MY MOOREFIELD RACECOURSE,KOGARAH (1888-1951) BOOK IS AN ENTRY IN THE BILL WHITTAKER AWARD, 2018
The Bill Whittaker Award is presented in memory of the late Bill Whittaker, racing journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald, who died in 2009.
Bill was honoured in the Racing Hall of Fame for his contribution to racing journalism.
Horse racing books published within the last two years are eligible to enter, with the cut off being December 2017. They must have Australian /New Zealand content. The New Zealand books must however have sizeable Australian content.
The History Of Moorefield Racecourse was published on October 13, 2016.
My Moorefield research on my website annefield.net.au continues to be read widely across Australia, and also in a number of countries overseas. In addition, my Facebook site Moorefield Racecourse Kogarah has generated interest.

2014: Joint winners “Over the Hurdles” The History of Jumping Racing in Australia by John Adams and ‘Shannon” Before Black Caviar, So You Think or Takeover Target there was Shannon by Jessica Owers.
In the 2 year period to March 2016, there were 25 books on horse racing published in Australia and New Zealand.
2016: “Heroes and Champions “by Bob Charley.
A second prize winner on this occasion was announced: “Mosstrooper: Hack to Hero“ by Peter Harris.
In the almost two year period to December 2017, there have been over 30 books on horse racing published in Australia and New Zealand.
The winner at 2018 Award was TULLOCH by Ken Linnett.
