The Independent team for Bayside Council’s Ward 3 brings a combined service in local government of almost 30 years and have deep connections with local sporting and community groups.

Andrew Tsounis has a degree in Economics, and currently works as a Project Manager delivering commercial office fit out projects .He has worked in both the public and private sector.

Andrew has lived in the Bayside LGA for 30 years and was first elected to Council in 2012, as a Councillor for Third Ward.

He was one of the driving forces behind the rebuilding of Bexley swimming pool, now the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, and the rebuilding of the library and has had 20 years involvement as a Board Member of the Ramsgate Life Saving Club.

Andrew has served as a Director of Morrisons Children’s Fund. In 2020, he received the Prime Minister’s Award for Community Involvement in the Cook electorate.

He has been particularly interested in the preservation of Cook Park, and the beaches of Botany Bay and has encouraged Council to seek grants to revitalise and renourish the beaches.

Anne Field is a former teacher of 36 years duration at a Kogarah secondary school. She has served both Rockdale and Kogarah Councils over a 17 year period, 1991-2008.

She has lived in Bayside Council area for 46 years and since her retirement in early 2012, Anne has written and self published ” The History of Moorefield Racecourse Kogarah (1888-1951) ” and has done talks to many community groups on her book,and other topics.

Anne is also an active member of St George Historical Society.

Trevor Dyet is a butcher who has lived in the Bayside Council area for 35 years. He has an interest in sport within our community. Trevor plays golf and is heavily involved in the Ramsgate Nippers Club where he is currently the Club Captain . Trevor has also been involved with the Ramsgate AFL Club.

“We are an experienced team, who are committed towards improving the quality of life of our residents in the next four year term of Council,” Councillor Tsounis said.

“Vote 1 above the line in GROUP B. We will encourage Council, to continue to improve the diversity, quality and sustainability of design in future developments in our built environment. This also includes the need for appropriate open space.

“We understand the importance of our local environment, and will aim to work hard to ensure that our parks, wetlands, beaches and beach foreshore , and sporting fields are maintained and improved.

“The M6 is to be completed at the end of 2025. This will have a huge impact on parts of Third Ward, as traffic exits the tunnel into President Avenue, Kogarah and then to the Princes Highway, Kogarah. We will ensure that Council lobbies the appropriate Government Departments to maintain the best road management for residents.

“We acknowledge that a vibrant Bayside Council needs to be able to engage with its Community. This can be done through support for our business community, arts and cultural exhibitions and productions, widening the appreciation of our local history and the many different sporting communities. We aim to encourage progress in all areas.

“We support Council transparency and financial accountability and will endeavour to fight to keep rate movement to a minimum.”
