It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to a dear friend, Bruce, who passed away on January 11th, 2023 aged almost 92. He was a former Olympian, a photographer, a talented poet, and a gifted artist.
In early 2016, Bruce wrote a beautiful poem for the foreword of my book on Moorefield Racecourse, Kogarah Sydney 1888 – 1951. His words captured the essence of the sport and the thrill of the races. Additionally, during the 1990s, Bruce took many photographs for me, which I was able to include in my book. His contributions to the book were invaluable and helped to make it a success.
Bruce will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His kind and generous spirit, his passion for his work, and his love of life will never be forgotten, I will always remember his sense of humour.
Bruce’s memorial service is to be held at a later date in February 2023
