MICHAEL LITTLEJOHN
I received a spam message to my website, annefield.net.au from Michael Littlejohn in late May 2020. He told me that he was the youngest nephew of Billy Lappin, former Moorefield jockey, who was killed on February 10 1940 riding Passport at Randwick. I dedicated my Moorefield book to Billy Lappin.
Michael’s mother who was Billy’s sister, passed away a number of years ago, and he is currently going through her material on Billy. I met with Dell Littlejohn in the mid 1990’s, and i recall that she lived in Green Point Road, Oyster Bay, Sydney.
The email address which Michael gave me is not accepting my emails- it may have changed. If anyone knows Michael Littlejohn, could they tell him to contact me on my email ko77582@bigpond.net.au. I would like to talk to him about Billy Lappin. I suspect that he may live in southern Sydney.
DES LAMBERT
On May 1 2018 i received a spam message to my website, annefield.net.au to tell me that his great uncle, George Lambert rode in India possibly in the 1920’s. i don’t recall if an email address was provided .
Recently, another relative contacted me in relation to George Lambert, and wanted a contact to Des Lambert . Does anyone know Des Lambert? If they do, could he kindly contact me on my email ko77582@bigpond.net.au.
A Tribute to Neil Snodgrass
I learned only recently from Mrs Sandra Swinton , Ted Swinton’s widow in Port Macquarie, that Neil had passed away in September 2019, aged 98 . He had been a groundsman at Moorefield Racecourse during the 1940’s. I had the pleasure of meeting Neil on May 12 2016 for afternoon tea in Wauchope, northern NSW.
